August 31, 2006?

[edit]

This Wikinews item from August 31, 2006 sounds similar. Maybe the 2006 event was captured later in the sequence. -- SEWilco (talk) 04:55, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Higher resolution images

[edit]

Incidentally, the NASA page on which the before/after images were found does have higher resolution images. I chose not to use them because they do not have labels, but maybe someone else wants to do something with them. -- SEWilco (talk) 18:36, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How far?

[edit]

This article says 84 Mly, article NGC 2770 says 103 Mly. Does anyone know which is more accurate? AndrewRT(Talk) 10:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've cited a more reliable source than the 103 from LBT. It now shows 88 Mly in both articles. WilliamKF (talk) 20:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion in article

[edit]

What is more interesting on this Supernova is that it is the second SN to be found in the same galaxy = NGC 2770. The earlier one 2007uy was discovered by Yoji Hirose on 31st December, 2009. [1]. SN 2007uy is visible on the image on this page. 11:38, May 27, 2008 Mpai (Talk)

Removed white space

[edit]

Got rid of the white space as far as I could by putting one thumbnail on the left and putting the wikinews after the references. Puzl bustr (talk) 11:35, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
